Why does BPH happen ??

It is common for the prostate gland to become enlarged as a man ages.

By ages 70 -80 close to 90% of men will have an enlarged prostate. Some fortunate men , however, will not experience the symptoms.
Prostate enlargement, or Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH), as referred to in medical jargon, is a condition affecting millions of men.
The prostate gland is the organ that produces the fluid, which transports the sperm during ejaculation. It's because of this function, that it is situated beneath the bladder and surrounds the urethra.
Doctors and scientists are not positive as to the cause for the growth which starts and ends late 40s.
The two main theories have to do with the balance of the male hormone (testosterone), and the female hormone (estrogen). It is not clear, however, if the cause has to do with hormone stimulation due to unbalance, or oversensitivity of the gland itself.

A normal prostate of an adult would be slightly smaller than a golf ball. Once it starts growing the gland will start compressing the urethra. The most common symptoms derived directly from this enlargement. The enlarged prostate may compress the urethra and obstruct (partly or completely) urine flow.
Another cause for obstructed urine flow is the contraction of the muscles around the urethra, caused by the pressure of the enlarged prostate.

In extreme cases, the size of the prostate can even be larger than your fist.
Once you have been diagnosed with BPH, the level of treatment is usually subjectively dictated by the symptoms. Some men will have a very large prostate, yet suffer only mild symptoms. Some will have a smaller growth but will exhibit severe symptoms.

I would like to thank you for the wonderful product Opuntimal.
About five years ago I was diagnosed with Benign Prostate Hypertrophy, which caused me great inconvenience. Frequent night trips to the bathroom and frequent but not full urination during the day. I have been using Opuntimal for 4 months now.
During the four years before that I was taking another Herbal Remedy which did not achieve their goals.
